Bamboo Solutions App Registration (Alert Plus / Alert Me Trial)

Purpose

To allow Alert Plus / Alert Me to create and disseminate alerts, an Entra ID App Registration must be created in the customer’s tenant. This app registration enables secure communication between the customer tenant and Bamboo Solutions–hosted Azure services used during the trial.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Create an App Registration

1. Sign in as an Entra Administrator.
2. Navigate to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center for your tenant.
3. In the left navigation, select App registrations.
4. Click + New registration.
5. Enter a name, for example:
   Alert Plus Trial
6. Under Supported account types, select:
   Accounts in any organizational directory (Any Microsoft Entra ID tenant – Multitenant)

This is required because Bamboo Solutions hosts the Azure services for all trials, and the customer tenant must communicate with the Bamboo Solutions tenant.

1. Click the Register button.

2. Capture the Application (Client) ID

1. After the registration completes, the app overview page will load.
2. Locate the Application (client) ID.
3. Copy this value and save it locally (Notepad or Word).

This will be required later during the Alert Plus installation and configuration.

3. Configure API Permissions

1. In the Manage section on the left, select API permissions.
2. Click + Add a permission.
3. Select Microsoft Graph.
4. Choose Application permissions.
5. In the search bar, type Sites.
6. Select:
   Sites.Read.All
7. Click Add permissions.
8. Back on the API permissions page, click Grant admin consent.

4. Create a Client Secret

1. In the Manage section, select Certificates & secrets.
2. Click + New client secret.
3. Enter a description, for example:
   Alert Plus Trial
4. Set Expires to 90 days.
5. Click Add.
6. Once created, locate the Value field.
7. Copy the Value immediately and save it locally (Notepad or Word).

This value is only shown once and will be required during Alert Plus installation.

Artifacts to Retain

The customer should securely store the following for later configuration:

• Application (Client) ID
• Client Secret Value
