Configuring the KPI Column Web Part
There are two different web parts that can be added to a page for the KPI Column:
- KPI Column Configuration
- This webpart allows a user to configure KPI Columns in a list
- KPI Column Display
- This webpart allows a user to lookup and view any KPI columns in the tenant
KPI Column Configuration
After adding the KPI Column Configuration Web Part to a page, republish the page to begin using the webpart to create KPI Columns. Below are the options on the form:
- Source List
- List used to get information to populate KPI Column
- View
- Select the view from which the source list will generate the KPI Column
- Destination List
- This is the list where the KPI Column should be inserted
- Column: Create new
- Create a new KPI Column
- Column: Edit Column
- Modify an existing KPI Column
- Column Name
- This will be the name of your KPI Column
- Description
- Enter a description of your KPI Column
- The value in this column is
- Establish what the KPI Column will output
- Column value display rules
- Establish the rules for displaying status icons and text for the KPI Column
- Show values
- Decide whether to show icons, values, and/or goals
- Reset
- Clear the form
- Save
- Save your new column or changes to existing column
KPI Column Display
After adding the KPI Column Display Web Part to a page, republish the page to begin using the webpart to view existing KPI Columns. Below are the options on the form:
- Select List containing KPI Columns
- Drop down will show all available lists on tenant with KPI columns to choose from
- Available KPI Columns
- Drop down will show all available KPI columns in the list you selected in the previous step to choose from
- Edit Header display text
- Check or uncheck which options you want displayed when your results from your search are generated
- Reset
- Reset the form
- Done
- View the results from your display query
In List KPI Column Configuration
In addition to these two webparts described above, there is also an ‘in-list’ option available to generate a KPI Column. The button appears at the top of every list in a SharePoint tenant that has KPI Column deployed, see below:
Clicking on this button will overlay a module that appears and functions the same as the KPI Column Configuration webpart, the only exception being that the list and the view drop downs are not editable:
