Tree View Web Part User Manual
Navigate SharePoint lists, libraries, wikis, and sites with hierarchical tree structures for SharePoint.
Configuring the Tree View Web Part:
If you are adding the webpart to your page for the first time click the "configure webpart" button after adding the webpart to a page. If you have already configured the webpart previously and want to update the settings, click on the icon to pull up the settings configuration info panel.
Data Source:
Select between a SharePoint List, SharePoint Site, or Microsoft Connectivity Services (BCS)
- SharePoint List Options:
a. Site URL:

- Provide the URL from which to pull information
- Select the “Load” button

b. Site Lists:
-

- Select which site lists to pull information from
-
c. Select List Views:
-

- Select which list view used to display output on webpart
-
d. Starting Node of Tree View:
-
-
- Select which node you would like to use to start your tree view, the node will be highlighted once selected
-
e. Hide Node of Tree View:
-
- Allows the admin to “hide” particular folders within the SharePoint List
f. Automatically expand level:
-
- Choose to automatically expand the tree view structure none, 1, 2, or 3 levels
g. Organize results by folder, group by, or group MetaData by
-
- Group MetaData by will popup and window when hitting submit that allows the admin to select which MetaData should be group by and in what order they should appear
h. Dynamic height:
-
- Enabling this will allow the webpart to expand and collapse in size depending on what data the user has selected to display
i. Display toolbar:
-
- Admin can toggle between displaying or not displaying toolbar
j. Default tree panel width:
-
- Set pixel width for tree hierarchy
k. Select Accent:
-
- Select the default accent color on the webpart
l. Custom Styling:
-
- Select the “Edit CSS” Button
- Click Yes once you are done making changes
2. SharePoint Site Options:
a. Display site navigation:
-

- Toggle to display whether to only display this site nav and below or not
-
b. Number of items per page:
-
-
- Set how many items should appear per page
-
c. Sort tree by:
-

- Select what information the tree should be sorted by
-
d. Automatically expand level:
-
-
- Choose to automatically expand the tree view structure none, 1, 2, or 3 levels
-
e. Dynamic height:

- Enabling this will allow the webpart to expand and collapse in size depending on what data the user has selected to display

Once you have setup all your preferred configurations press the “Save” button. If you want to quickly clear all the options that you entered, you can click the “Reset” button.
