Chart Plus Cloud Part®
Easily add visually dynamic charts and graphs to your SharePoint sites.
Configuring the Chart Plus Cloud Part®
After adding the Calendar Plus Cloud Part® to a page, the user can click on the icon to pull up the Chart Plus Data Selector form.
Fill out the form to the desired configuration:
- Chart Name
The value entered here will appear above the chart as the title
- Source Site
In this field, the user types in which site contains the list containing the data for the chart. The value selected here determines the source list choices in Source List. (See item #3 below). After choosing the source site, press Load Lists to populate the Source Lists field.
- Source List
Choose the list that contains the data for the chart. The lists shown here depend on the Source Site value selected.
- Chart Type
Select the type of chart: Column, Bar, Pie, Donut, Line, Area, Scatter, or Bubble. Some chart types may or may not require items 5 and/or 6 below. See image below for a few examples of what the various chart types look like.
- X (Category) Axis
- Select Category Field
Select which column of categories you would like to compare. The dropdown list will auto-populate with columns from your Source List.
- Single (Category) Axis
This toggles the option to count the number of items in each category in the x-axis data set. This precludes using a Y axis series. This is not available for scatter or bubble charts.
- Enable Data Grouping
Group x values that are the same. This will enable the ability to aggregate the y values for these categories. (See item #6 below). This is not available for scatter or bubble charts.
- Y (Value) Axis
Specify which list column contains the values you would like to compare between the categories.
If you have enabled data grouping on the x-axis, you can aggregate the y-axis data you are comparing by either the sum or the average. This is not available for scatter or bubble charts.
Note: To aggregate by count, simply check the "Single (Category) Axis Chart" checkbox under the X (Category) Axis section.
- Filter Data
Chart Plus allows the user to filter the data returned. There are three main options:
- Show All – All data from the Source List will be rendered in the chart.
- Use Existing List View – Only the items that show in the selected already-existing view for the Source List will be shown
- Specify Filter Condition – The user can set up their own custom filter conditions. For example, exclude items whose “Region” column value is “North” Multiple conditions can be added and combined by using the option.
Press the submit button to generate the chart.
