Alert Plus and List Rollup – Central Administration Resource message.
Alert Plus and List Rollup are a couple products that do have setting options that are accessed through Central Administration. These options are dependent on resource files that need to be placed in your Virtual Directories.
Issue:
When trying to access Alert Plus or List Rollup on the main page of Central Administration you will encounter the following error message.
Resolution:
Go to the following location on all servers running Central Administration Service.
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\{Central Admin Directory}\App_GlobalResources
Please Check for the following files.
If these files do not exist, the product was not fully deployed to your Central Administration Web application.
You can do either of the following.
You can go to Manage Farm Solutions in Central Administration, System settings and redeploy the solution.
Or
You can find the Resource Files in a content Web Applications Virtual Directory. Find the files in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\{Content Web Application}\App_GlobalResources and copy and paste them to the Central Administration directory.
After this please preform an IIS reset on all Servers that are running Central Administration Service.
Note: Both resolutions will cause down time and interruptions to production environments please take all necessary precautions.
