Issue:
Password Expiration Web Part was updated to use the Web License Manager for R1.5 but the accompanying Notification Add-On could not be, since the Web Part installs in SharePoint but the Add-On installs on the file system.
Resolution:
A second licensing key, for the LM (License Manager) 2.8 is required in order to activate the Notification Add-On, as well as the key for the WLM (Web License Manager). If this is a new purchase, you should have been provided with that key as well as the WLM key. If this is an upgrade, you must contact either Sales (sales@bamboosolutions.com or, directly, your sales rep) or Support (via MyBamboo) to get the second Key.
Instructions for resolving the problem:
In the installer for the Password Expiration Web Part, there should have been a listing for Web License Manager and Bamboo License Manager. Via that installer, please proceed with the following steps:
First, install the Bamboo License Manager.
The info on the right should read something like this:
This installation is only required to unlock and activate a purchased copy of the Notification Add-On. It is not needed for the Password ExpirationWeb Part
The window that pops up when you click through, should read:
Welcome to the Bamboo License Manager v2.8.1 Setup Wizard
After proceeding through that wizard, the Bamboo License Manager should show up in the Windows/Start options and you can move on to the steps below:
1.Open the License Manager, and select the product you are licensing (in this instance, the Notification Add-On)
2.Click the Browse button.
3.Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bamboo Solutions Corporation\Bamboo.Notification Add-On\Bamboo.PasswordExpirationService.dll
4.Select that .dll
5.Input the license key you have been given by Sales (if you try to re-use the license key provided for the Web License Manager, it will not work).
6.Then select Activate Online, if your server has internet access, or select Activate Via Email* if it does not.
7.After activation is complete, you should be able to use the Notification Add On without further problems.
*NOTE: If your server does not have internet access, you will also need to contact support and provide them with the Machine Key that was generated in the last step. Support will create an unlock code for you at that point.
