Web License Manager error OnLoad: at b.a(ILicense A_0) at b.a(String A_0, String A_1, String A_2, IList`1 A_3, String A_4)

APPLIES TO:

• Bamboo products using Web License Manager
• Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
• SharePoint Foundation 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010

SYMPTOMS:

These errors are seen in the Bamboo Web License Manager page in Central Administration.

When selecting the license Status:

OnLoad: at b.a(ILicense A_0) at b.a(String A_0, String A_1, String A_2, IList`1 A_3, String A_4) at b.a(IProduct A_0, IList`1 A_1, String A_2) at Bamboo.Web.Licensing.DataProvider.Product.get_Licenses() at Bamboo.ProductManager.DataHelper.a(IProduct A_0) at Bamboo.Products.ProductStatus.a(IProduct A_0) at Bamboo.Products.ProductStatus.OnLoad(EventArgs e)

When selecting Activate/Deactivate:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

CAUSE:

If a licensed Web Front End server is removed from the SharePoint farm without deactivating its license first, the above errors can result in Web License Manager.

RESOLUTION:

From the Web License Manager main page, go to 'Choose License Server(s)' and make sure that all current Web Front End servers have boxes checked, then click the OK button even if no changes are made there.
